Charles Jared Ingersoll was an American lawyer and a Democratic member of the US House of Representatives. Ingersoll was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the son of Jared Ingersoll also the brother of Joseph Reed Ingersoll. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1802 and commenced practice in Philadelphia. He was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and a member of the Constitutional Convention in 1837.
